Brewing Instructions
Loose Leaf Tea
We recommend brewing 5g of loose leaf tea at 70°C for 2 minutes. You can make 2-3 brews from the same leaves.
Teabags
Brew teabags at 70-80°C for 1-10 minutes, according to your preference.
Important Tips
Water Temperature
Never use hot boiling water. This would burn the tea and destroy the taste. If you cannot measure temperature, bring the water to the boil and then wait a few minutes until it stops smoking.
Equipment
Avoid contact with steel to prevent the tea from oxidizing. We recommend using a ceramic kyushu pot to brew Japanese green tea.
How to Store
Normally, tea does just fine at room temperature, especially if you use it up soon. However, over the long-term, tea should be stored away from sunlight and the temperature should be a little lower than room temperature. Summer heat or temperature swings reduce tea quality. If storing for extended periods, put tea in the refrigerator.
